The opening of the Jacket Workshop at the Pyrenex Manufacture: the challenges of French excellence
A commitment to the values and roots of south-west France is a priority at Pyrenex. Since 1859, our company has worked with the finest duck farms in the region to produce in Saint-Sever the best possible natural down. In addition to the bedding workshops, which have proudly carried the colours of Made in France for over 60 years, Pyrenex is delighted to be able to produce there an exclusive, high-end line of down jackets stamped 100% Made in Saint-Sever.
In a drive towards relocalisation and with this desire to promote short-circuit production, we are proud to announce the inauguration of a new jacket production line in our factory. Drawing on our 160 years of expertise in the production of down, bedding products and ready-to-wear for men, women and children, this initiative is accompanied by an expansion of our team of seamstresses to design, develop and produce an ever-growing range of jackets made on site.
The launch of the "Made in Sever" down jackets
Two lightweight down jackets are already being made in our workshops in Saint-Sever: the men's Usko down jacket, and its women's equivalent Lys. This exceptional range of down jackets brings together all the talent and expertise of Pyrenex. The materials, the finishes and the design make them truly unique pieces.
As a major innovation of this expertise: the tube finish. This new technology makes it possible to avoid stitching through the down jackets and therefore to guarantee a minimum of air entry points — that is to say, cold spots — allowing these down jackets to provide a great sensation of warmth despite their thinness.
Ultra-light and warm, they are ideal in any season. In mid-season (spring and autumn) or in summer when temperatures are cool, these down jackets can be worn "on their own" over a t-shirt or a light jumper. In winter when it is really very cold, you can wear them as a base layer under your favourite winter coat. Whatever the use, they provide comfort and freedom of movement.
They are made up of 90% Aquitaine duck down and 10% small feathers, and are available in two colours (black and dark blue "midnight"). New colours are coming very soon!
New 19-20 collection "Made in Saint-Sever"
For winter 19-20, two new 100% Made in Saint-Sever down jackets make their appearance and will be available for sale during the month of September. These are the Karla down jacket for women and the Barry down jacket for men. They are much warmer and feature a more substantial natural filling, while retaining the legendary lightness of Pyrenex. Adopting a resolutely modern and chic style, these two down jackets complete the range by offering unrivalled protection against the bitter cold.
