Desertus Bikus: a race like no other
Every year, cyclists from across Europe embark on an extraordinary adventure: the Desertus Bikus. An ultra-distance race crossing the Spanish deserts, where self-sufficiency is the rule and pushing one's limits is a prerequisite.
The Desertus Bikus is an iconic ultra-cycling race that took place from 19 to 25 April, crossing Spain from north to south: a 1,417 km adventure through Spain, from the Basque Country to the Costa del Sol.
This race requires cyclists to plot their own route via checkpoints located in iconic desert areas such as the Bardenas Reales, the Montañas Vacías, the Gorafe desert and the Tabernas desert.
With no assistance and no logistical support, they face heat, fatigue, solitude and the unexpected. A true return to basics, where only willpower and preparation matter. The Desertus Bikus continues to captivate adventure and long-distance cycling enthusiasts, offering a unique experience blending self-surpassing and the discovery of spectacular landscapes.

Pyrenex, partner of an authentic adventure
For this new edition, Pyrenex once again partnered with the event. Specialising in technical down jackets and gilets for outdoor activities, the French brand supported participants by providing equipment suited to the extreme conditions of the race, including capes and neck warmers. This collaboration underlines Pyrenex
