An eiderdown is a fabric cover filled with down and/or feathers that is placed on a bed to complement a duvet or a blanket. It is a kind of large, quilted, very fluffy throw whose main purpose is to provide you with comfort and warmth during cool or even cold nights, to guarantee you a quality sleep. The eiderdown therefore completes your classic bedding by adding to your favourite duvet or bedspread (it is smaller to leave room for pillows and bolsters) to keep you even warmer.
Sometimes considered an old-fashioned accessory that is a touch too traditional, the eiderdown is making a comeback today, both in your bedroom and in your living room, presenting itself in different shapes, colours and materials. The eiderdown is perfect as a decorative accessory on your sofa for cosy winter evenings or moments of relaxation after a long day at work.
While some duvets have a synthetic filling, at Pyrenex we exclusively offer a 100% natural filling made from French duck and goose down and feathers, sourced from our manufactory in Saint-Sever, France. The American eiderdown (350g/m²) is filled with 50% down and 50% small feathers from French silver duck. Its microfibre cover is available in several colours: turtle dove and ruby. With this one, you are sure to enjoy comfortable nights. We also have the Country eiderdown (900g/m²), which contains a treasure of natural filling made from 70% French silver duck down and 30% small feathers. This eiderdown is ideal for keeping you wonderfully warm during winter nights. It also exists in a coloured version, the Country Colour eiderdown. The available colours are: turtle dove, ruby and linen.
On our website, you will find these three eiderdowns: the flat eiderdown, known as the "American", and the classic "Country" eiderdown; available in the following sizes: 90x150cm, 140x150cm, 140x200cm. Delivery and returns are always free.
