Parkas
An essential staple of the winter wardrobe and the mid-season wardrobe, the parka jacket has stood the test of time to become a must-have coat for protection against the elements — wind, cold and damp alike.
A technical coat designed for extreme conditions.
A parka jacket is often associated with extreme cold. At Pyrenex, this saying still holds true. We offer a range of warm jackets with a generous filling of natural Pyrenex down, born of ancestral expertise. Its exceptional loft power ensures high-quality thermal insulation combining warmth, softness and lightness — ideal when temperatures drop below zero. Technical, durable and waterproof (or water-repellent) fabrics complete the protective qualities of this garment. Add versions with genuine fur-trimmed hoods and you have the ultimate cold-weather jacket — the iconic choice for outdoor expeditions! And since winter does not last twelve months, we have developed a line of lighter parkas and windbreakers, with or without down, to offer you optimal protection in spring and summer.
Trendy design and modern style.
Technicality and fashion are not mutually exclusive. We are committed to offering parka and short bomber jacket styles, with or without hoods, that suit all tastes and needs — whether for everyday protection in urban environments, or for travels near the icy seas of the far north or snow-capped mountains across the globe. Opt for mid-length or even short versions if you are petite, or go for longer, less fitted versions if you are tall or simply looking for a looser, streetwear style that is very on-trend in the city. In every case: elegance and comfort are features common to all our models. Enveloping cuts, generous hoods and natural French down filling sum up the key trends of the Autumn - Winter 2023/24 collection. Around the corners of monuments or inspiring cobbled alleyways, it infuses shades of brown and auburn to accompany this very urban fashion with small, endlessly layerable pieces: a new casual chic and modern aesthetic that, on the women's side, proves you can be both delicate and all-terrain at once.
Enjoy a wide choice of materials and colours in our online shop. From classic shades such as matt black, navy blue or khaki to bolder colours like green, electric blue or white — there is something for every taste!

What is the difference between a parka and a down jacket?
The length and the hood. At Pyrenex, a parka is longer than a standard down jacket and almost always has a hood. Like a down jacket, it is usually filled with duck down. Some rain parkas, such as the Eissaure and Grace, contain no down: they focus on waterproof protection and can be worn over an insulating layer, such as a lightweight down jacket, when it is cold. Another difference is visible in the outer stitching: a down jacket usually has a quilted, baffle-style appearance, while many parkas hang straight, with no visible quilting.
Do Pyrenex parkas have real fur?
No. Pyrenex stopped making styles trimmed with real or faux fur several years ago, out of respect for animal welfare and the environment.
Which warm, waterproof parka should you choose?
Choose a style rated for low temperatures that also offers proper waterproof protection. The long Puigmal, filled with natural French down, is rated for -20 °C to 0 °C and has a waterproof membrane and sealed seams. The Fingal, made from recycled gabardine with a waterproof membrane, covers -10 °C to +5 °C. For women, the Easy combines waterproof microfibre fabric and sealed seams with a temperature range of -5 °C to +10 °C.
