The filling power. The measurement unit of its ‘loft’ or ‘fluffiness’. Calculated in CUIN (cubic inches), it measures the capacity for a certain filling weight to puff out to a certain volume: the greater the ‘puffed out’ volume, the higher the insulation performance and lightness of the down. Products with fill power greater than 480 are already considered to be of very good quality.

Care

To ensure that a PYRENEX bedding product retains all its properties and softness, the brand makes the following recommendations:

  • For optimum use of your product, we recommend that you take it out of its packagingat least 24 hours before using it for the first time so that it regains all its fluffiness.
  • Give it a daily shake to ensure that the filling remains evenly distributed
  • Invert the top and bottom of the duvet every 15 days
  • On a sunny day, lay it out between two chairs or by the window for a few hours to air it out as often as possible and at least three times a year (avoid hanging it on a clothesline)
  • Machine wash and dry it according to the care instructions provided, or have it professionally laundered.
  • Wash your duvet and pillow once or twice a year.
Washing

A duvet in a duvet cover does not need to be washed frequently. If an untimely stain means you have to wash it, it is essential to follow the washing instructions and, preferably, avoid washing it more than once a year. If done properly, this annual wash will restore the duvet's lightness and loft.

In general, always refer to the product label.

  • Pillows: machine washable in 5 kg drums.
  • Duvets: machine washable in a 15 kg drum.
  • In terms of detergent: we recommend using a liquid detergent in the correct dosage. Liquid detergent is more soluble and rinses out much better. All our natural duvets come with a dose of soap for 1 wash.
  • 5 or 6 rinses are necessary.
Drying

Machine dry, gentle and durable, synthetic or delicate programme. Minimum 4 hours. It is important that your duvet or pillow is completely dry to avoid the development of mould later on.

Important

To make your duvet and pillow plump again when drying, it is essential to put 2 to 3 dryer balls in the tumble dryer.
