We know that a good pillow is essential for a good night's sleep. For many of us, buying a pillow is always a complicated step. Soft, gentle, firm or ergonomic, we all have our own preferences and sleeping habits.
The perfect pillow will maintain the optimal alignment of the spine, neck and head. Pillows have the advantage of supporting the head at night, promoting blood circulation, relaxing the muscles and maintaining a natural posture.
Therefore, at Pyrenex, we offer a wide range of pillows and bolsters made in France, produced in our manufacturing plant in Saint-Sever (France), to best meet your comfort and sleep needs.
The benefits of Pyrenex pillows
Comfortable feel thanks to the filling
The natural fillings of Pyrenex pillows (in French goose and duck feather and down) are composed of a blend of curved downy feathers and down clusters. Depending on the model, Pyrenex offers various proportions of down clusters and feathers (various compositions) and different densities, which represent as many comfort variants and choices for the sleeper.
The pillow filling adds exceptional lightness and comfort. The materials, fabrics and fibres used to encase our pillows provide softness and breathability to the product.
Homogeneous support thanks to the filling
Whatever the percentage of feathers and down clusters in the filling, one of the intrinsic qualities of Pyrenex natural fillings is their ability to distribute themselves within the pillow to take the shape of the sleeper's head and neck, thus offering well-distributed support with no pressure points. This is a fundamental property that distinguishes them from most other synthetic or natural fillings.
Spring vs Soft
Feathers give an elastic (springy) sensation, while down gives a soft feel.
- From 100% feathers to 30% down / 70% feathers: the majority of feathers offer a springy and firm feel.
- The 50% down / 50% feathers: a good balance between softness and spring.
- From 70% down: the feel of the pillow is resolutely soft.
- Between 90% and 100% down: loft and softness reach exceptional levels.

Pillow density determines its support
The denser a pillow is (and therefore the higher its filling weight), the firmer it will be.
- Lowest density: the pillow is flat and offers low, flat support.
- Medium density: the pillow is lofty and offers soft support.
- High density: the pillow is very lofty and offers firm support.
Allergic to dust mites?
Some Pyrenex pillow models benefit from a 100% natural anti-dust mite treatment, Greenfirst.
To summarise, the feel and support of a Pyrenex pillow are two parameters to consider for a good night's sleep!

Pyrenex pillow or bolster — which one(s) to choose?
The pillow and the bolster are two distinct bed accessories, even though their use is similar. It all depends on each person's sleeping habits and preferences; it is possible to sleep with a pillow, a bolster or even both for better body posture. Generally, this issue does not arise because pillows can be used as individual supports and bolsters can be used as shared supports.
The bolster is often used as a bed accessory, although it can be the first choice for sleeping. Indeed, the support is most useful when you are having breakfast in bed, watching television or reading a book. As for the pillow, it is an important sleep support, as the choice of pillow is very personal depending on your sleeping habits and preferences.
At Pyrenex, we provide pillows and bolsters to meet everyone's expectations. The natural filling of French duck down and feathers in our products offers comfort and support for deep and peaceful nights.

How to choose a Pyrenex pillow?
When you sleep on your side, back or stomach, which pillow should you choose?
In order to sleep in the best possible conditions, whilst ensuring that your back, shoulders and neck are in the best position, here are some tips for choosing a Pyrenex pillow:
- If you sleep more on your back or on your side: you will need good support, that is to say a lofty, well-filled model with soft or firm support.
- For people with broad shoulders who sleep on their side: it is recommended to use voluminous and robust pillows to maintain the best posture for the head, neck and shoulders throughout the night.
- If you sleep only on your stomach: the best support will be provided by a flat pillow with a low fill weight.
When you suffer from back, shoulder or neck pain, which pillow should you choose?
- For those who suffer from lower back pain, it is preferable to sleep on your side and choose a soft pillow or a firm one.
- If you have shoulder pain, it is recommended to sleep on your back and choose a soft pillow.
- For those who suffer from neck pain, it is advisable to sleep on your back and choose a soft pillow or an ergonomic one.
Caring for your Pyrenex pillow
It is recommended to shake and fluff your Pyrenex pillow regularly in order to maintain a perfect distribution of the down. Furthermore, approximately every 2 months, it is recommended to put your pillow in the tumble dryer for 30 minutes to preserve the loft of the down.
How do I wash my pillow?
Our Pyrenex pillows are machine washable with a 5 kg drum. Approximately 5 to 6 rinse cycles are needed to remove the detergent. They can be tumble dried according to the care instructions provided. As for detergent, we recommend using a liquid detergent, following the dosage indicated on the product label.
When should I change my pillow?
Theoretically, you should change your pillow every 2 to 3 years. However, our Pyrenex pillows can be used for longer, thanks in particular to the natural French duck filling. Furthermore, changing your pillow depends on the care you give it over the long term.
