A true icon of winter, the down jacket has established itself as the ideal companion for combining warmth, comfort and elegance in cold weather. A timeless wardrobe staple, its design is renewed each year while retaining that classic quality we all appreciate. With this in mind, more and more consumers are choosing clothes made in France, often a hallmark of quality and authentic craftsmanship, guaranteeing transparency and traceability. With its "Made in Saint-Sever" line, Pyrenex perfectly embodies this pursuit of excellence and authenticity.

Choosing a down jacket made in France, or at the very least one whose essential component — the down — is produced in France, is to bet on durability and excellence! Unlike pieces from fast fashion, these down jackets retain their loft, their shape and their insulating power year after year. Far more than an investment, a French down jacket ensures you are protected from the cold with style, and does so over the long term, while also supporting local employment.

How to choose your Made-in-France down jacket

Down jackets designed in France stand out thanks to their meticulous finishing and the carefully selected materials. All the cuts are designed to last and to work as an essential piece in your wardrobe. These down jackets reflect a unique artisanal expertise passed down through several generations. At Pyrenex, our "Made in Saint-Sever" collection makes the technical choice of using a tube fabric with "no external stitching". This choice notably limits cold spots (air entry points) and gives our down jackets enhanced insulating capacity. Choosing Made-in-France means a guarantee of transparency throughout the production chain, a guarantee that every stage of manufacturing is controlled within local workshops, and an commitment to a so-called responsible production.

A filling that makes all the difference

Down is at the heart of the excellence of Made-in-France down jackets, but that is not all! Whatever the range of jackets at Pyrenex, all our down jackets are filled with our renowned upcycled French natural down. Sourced from French production, every goose and duck feather is meticulously sorted, washed and enhanced. Rigorously checked, the combination of down and small feathers is distinguished by its exceptional loft (very often above 600 cuin), guaranteeing optimal thermal insulation even in the coldest periods. Naturally lightweight and breathable, French down offers unrivalled comfort. Year after year, the down jacket retains its volume and its insulating performance.

The Made-In-Saint-Sever line, an emblem of Made-in-France

Rooted in the heart of the Landes, in Saint-Sever, Pyrenex has embodied exceptional expertise in the art of enhancing feathers and down since 1859, for both clothing and bedding products. The Pyrenex Manufacture, which employs more than 160 people year-round, has been awarded the prestigious "Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant" (EPV) label.

Since 2020, Pyrenex has been striving to relocate part of its production to its iconic site. Our pieces from the "Made in Saint-Sever" line are the result of this initiative. These very high-end down jackets are individually sewn, signed and checked by seamstresses based within the manufacture. The Made in Saint Sever down jacket is the perfect alliance of quality and authenticity. Each piece is unique and numbered. The range offers elegantly shaped, timeless and modern styles designed to last. You will find short pieces such as the Barry, the Eneko or the Amelia, sleeveless styles such as the Arbatan and long coats such as the Oriela or Irek.
