Everything you need to know about Pertex® technology
Pertex® Quantum Pro is a fabric used across several types of Pyrenex products thanks to its ultra-water-repellent material, offering enhanced resistance to harsh weather in extreme conditions. The insulation of this fabric offers a very high level of water resistance while remaining lightweight, soft and breathable.
Moreover, this fabric offers genuine rapid evaporation by dispersing moisture. This means that water has no time to soak into the fabric and is immediately repelled. In addition to these highly technical properties, this fabric provides excellent insulation against the cold and prevents hypothermia during periods of inactivity.
Pyrenex has chosen to offer products in Pertex® fabric to exceed the needs of every adventurer and athlete who may encounter unfavourable weather conditions and extreme environments.
Our collection of windbreakers in Pertex® fabric
For years, Pyrenex has been making windbreakers, pieces that are both technical and modern, which have become wardrobe essentials for the mid-season and summer periods.
This summer 2021, the R&D team presents a brand new range of windbreakers in Pertex® fabric to meet seasonal weather protection needs (rain, wind, hail).
For a windbreaker to be effective, it must be water-repellent rather than waterproof. Indeed, a 100% waterproof jacket does not allow the body's breathability to be optimised, particularly during physical exertion. For this reason, our R&D team validated Pertex® fabric in the windbreaker manufacturing process in order to offer you the best in terms of protection and comfort.
The range of Pertex fabric windbreakers for men and women comprises short and long jackets, in pastel or understated colours. Suited to every outing — in the mountains, at the seaside or in the city — Pyrenex windbreakers will protect you against changing weather conditions without compromising on look and casual style.
Whatever the windbreaker, it can be worn just as well with a skirt, shorts, jeans or technical trousers. It should be noted that you will appreciate its usefulness even more during physical activity in the great outdoors, whether hiking through a forest or in the mountains.

Last winter, Pyrenex announced its return to the mountains by unveiling a capsule of mountaineering down jackets in Pertex® fabric, designed according to the temperatures required for mountaineering and the technical needs for climbing the highest peaks.
Highly water-repellent thanks to Pertex® Quantum Pro fabric, the Hudson XP (men's version) and Meije XP (women's version) down jackets can be worn in extreme conditions (down to -20 degrees).
It should be noted that throughout the process of this mountain collection, our ambassadors and athletes tested our prototypes and products in real conditions, thus confirming the technical performance and reliability of our down jackets. A huge success last winter, our mountain down jackets are being renewed for next winter in 2021 with our iconic models, the Meije XP (women's) and the Hudson XP (men's).
