What is the difference between a parka and a down jacket?

The length and the hood. At Pyrenex, a parka is longer than a classic down jacket and almost always features a hood. It is most often filled with duck down, just like a down jacket. Certain rain parkas, such as the Range or Saint-Lary, contain no down: they focus on high waterproofing, up to 20,000 mm.

Do Pyrenex parkas have real fur?

Some do, yes. The Grenoble, Bordeaux, Annecy, Authentic and Deyti parkas feature a hood trimmed with genuine fur: 100% Finnraccoon Tanukis Saga Furs, of Finnish origin. It is removable on all these styles. Other parkas, such as the Charlotte, the Spark or the Fingal, are fur-free.

Which warm, waterproof parka should you choose?

A model that combines a low temperature rating with certified water resistance. The Bordeaux and Annecy parkas are rated for -20°C to 0°C, with a 10,000 mm waterproof fabric. The Authentic in mini ripstop reaches 15,000 mm. The Delta 3-in-1 reaches 20,000 mm, featuring a removable inner down jacket.
